4月4日よりいよいよ発売スタートとなるジープの新型ピックアップトラックモデル「グラディエータ(Gladiator)」ですが、このモデルの初回限定モデルとなるローンチエディション(Launch Edition)が世界限定4,190台販売されることがわかりました。
これは、ピックアップトラック4×4モデルと発売日の4月4日をかけた特別なモデルとのことですが、折角なら販売台数も4,444台といった形で4に拘るのもアリかなぁと思ったり(販売台数の由来は以下に記載)。
そんなことよりも、今回の特別限定モデルは、ジープ「グラディエータ」のコンシェルジュオンラインwebサイトにて公開されているもので、何とこのモデルを先行予約した人全員を対象に、たった1名だけ約1,100万円を獲得するチャンスが貰えるとのこと。
エントリーグレードよりも2倍高いが…それでも買う価値はある？
ちなみに、今回のローンチエディションでは、特別な17インチのミッドグロスブラックに仕上げたアルミホイールと33インチのオールテレーンタイヤ、インテリアにはシルバー仕上げのインストルメントパネルのミッドボルスターと、レッドステッチを縫合したブラックレザーシートを標準装備します。
その他には、テールゲートにアルミ製のバッジが貼付される予定となっています。
ちなみに、この4,190台という台数の由来は、「グラディエーター」が製造される製造工場がオハイオ州であり、そこの市外局番が”419”から始まるということで、そらに合わせて台数を”4,190”にしたのだとか。
気になる価格帯についてですが、意外にも高額な約680万円にて設定され、エントリーグレードSportよりも約2倍の価格帯となります。
ただ、それでもアメリカでは大変人気の高い(特にピックアップ)モデルですし、既に1,000件を超える問い合わせが入ってきているとのことです。
