メルセデスベンツ「Gクラス」やスズキ「ジムニー」は全く話にならない…爆撃にも耐え得る究極のオフロードSUVモデル・レズヴァニ新型「タンク」のティーザーが公開
～クロカンの中でも別次元レベルのクルマが登場～
アメリカ・カリフォルニアを拠点とする新興メーカ・レズヴァニが、2017年に地球上で最もタフなオフロード四輪駆動SUV「タンク(Rezvani Tank)」を発売しましたが、今回2020年モデル専用の最新「タンク」が登場することがわかり、併せてティーザー画像も公開されています。
今回の新型モデルでは、従来採用されていたJK世代のジープ「ラングラー」のプラットフォームではなく、最新JL世代のものを流用することが判明しています。
レズヴァニCEOであるFerris Rezvani氏によれば、「今回の新型モデルでは、より筋肉質でバランスのとれたタフ過ぎるオフロードモデルになり、更に新鮮なデザインを提供することになる」と説明。
実際にティーザー画像をチェックしてみると、既存モデルとのデザイン性は非常に似ていますが、アンダー部分が確認できないため具体的にどのあたりが変更されるかについては明確になっていません。
ただ、そのクロカンスタイルはメルセデスベンツ「Gクラス」やスズキ「ジムニー」と同じ系統ではありながらも、装甲車としても使われるためボディはかなり頑丈。
走破性はもちろんのことですが、防弾性は上記2台とは比較にならないほどのタフさを持っていると予想されます。
～スタイリングはより複雑に…エンジンも強力に…防爆性も強烈に…？！～
改めてティーザー画像に戻ってみると、ルーフラインは現行モデルよりもちょっと斜めに下るようなクーペ風になり、フロントフードにはこんもりとした複雑な形状が確認できますね。
こちらは上部から見たときの新型「タンク」。
フロントフードの形状がかなり複雑ですね…しかもフロントフェンダーにはルーバーが設けられるほど。ある意味スーパーカールックなデザインです。
メカニカル的な詳細情報においては、Fox Racing製サスペンションを搭載しているとのことで、オンロードやオフロード、そしてサーキットでも活用できるほどにフレキシブル性の高いスポーツサスペンションをインストールしているとのこと。
パワートレインについては、ダッジ「チャレンジャーSRTデーモン(Dodge Challenger SRT Demon)」にも搭載される排気量6.2L V型8気筒スーパーチャージャーエンジンを搭載し、最高出力707hpを発揮しますが、オプションのTANK Xパッケージを設定することで最大1,000hpまで調整することが可能だそうです(多分ドラッグレースで大暴れするタイプ)。
その他においては、核爆弾や電磁放射のE1レベルの爆発にも耐え得るエレクトロ・マグネティック・パルス・プロテクションを含む軍用グレードのタンク・ミリタリー・エディションもラインナップしているそうで、こちらは相当な費用が発生するモデルではないかと考えられます。
なお、新型「タンク」は今夏にデビューする予定で、早くとも2019年末には納車され予定となっています。
